Dive into a world of sailing adventure with Wollongong Yacht Club (WYC)! Our year-round sailing calendar offers a fantastic blend of social sails and club races, ensuring there's something for everyone, every weekend.
Social Sails:
Embrace the joy of sailing with our bi-weekly social sails, perfect for unwinding on the water without the racing pressure. We welcome experienced sailors to join as crew members. Remember, visiting sailors must register for a SailPass and contact Crew@wyc.org.au before the day.
Gather at the clubhouse at 10 am to plan the day's sail, and after a day of fun, head back to Yachties Kiosk for refreshing, post-sail drinks.
Club Races:
Unleash your competitive spirit with our casual yet exciting bi-weekly club races.
Division Two: Gather at 10 am, start at 11 am.
Division One: Gather at 10:30 am, start at 11:30 am.
Online race briefing is posted on WYC Skippers WhatsApp page by 10am - there's also a briefing link in the event registration confirmation email (updated by 10am on race day).
Skippers - Don't forget to submit your finish time (or DNF) to the WYC Finish Times WhatsApp page.

Our exhilarating race lineup includes:
Pursuit: Fast-paced round-the-can races
Ocean Series: Challenging races, typically >20 NM
Season Series: Engaging races, about 10 NM
Novice Helm Races: Special races throughout the year to foster and promote sailors with up to 2 years experience.
Coal Coast Classic: Interclub race with Sydney clubs during the October Long Weekend
Australia Day Regatta: 5 thrilling races over 3 days
To join one of our spectacular sailing events, arrive at the club at least an hour before the scheduled start time. Add an extra 30 minutes for a pre-sailing coffee! Find us at Belmore Basin in Wollongong Harbour.
Winter Schedule: With shorter days, we meet at 10 am for a quick briefing before heading out on Trim (our club tender, named after Matthew Flinders' cat) for an 11 am race or social sail start. Don't miss the boat!
Summer Schedule: Sundays are different, with an 11 am briefing and a 12 pm start. Plus, enjoy the added bonus of Twilight Sailing on Fridays!
